Agere Systems Inc was a USA based hardware company whose headquarter was in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In the earlier days Agera was a Texas based electronics company and another major company Lucent Technologies had acquired Agera Systems in the year 2000. In April 2007, the company merged into California based electronics company LSI Corporation.

In India, Agere Systems has a development center in Bangalore and mainly the work of ASIC design and software development is done there. Now a days the company is maintaining the production of integrated circuits. Recently the company has nearly 17,000 employees. The president and chief executive officer of the company is Richard L. Clemmer.
